APPLICATIONS OF TAYLOR SERIES IN REAL ANALYSIS
|
Abstract This paper explores the versatile applications of Taylor series, a powerful mathematical tool employed for approximating complex functions and solving differential equations. While polynomial functions offer simplicity, Taylor series enable the representation of intricate functions, facilitating the study of their asymptotic behavior. Through various examples, this paper demonstrates the diverse applications of Taylor series in approximation and computational science, particularly benefiting engineering and physical science fields. Key advantages include the ability to express any mathematical function as a polynomial, providing approximate solutions in cases where precise solutions are challenging to obtain. In numerical mathematics, Taylor series forms the basis for many equation-solving algorithms, emphasizing its significance. The paper also discusses the importance of considering precision requirements in practical applications. For instance, in scenarios like automatic aircraft landing systems, an error tolerance of one or two meters may be acceptable, while highly precise measurements, such as head position readings from a cylinder, demand errors within a millionth of a meter.
